Cost Accountant

Description Robert Half is looking for a cost accountant for a growing Cincinnati based company. The cost accountant is responsible for month-end close process including journal entries and valuation of inventory. The cost accountant will have responsibilities including Inventory, Costing/Absorption, and Margin Analysis working with several facilities across multiple states. Coordinates/Prepares Annual Standard Cost roll including providing management with analysis on impact to inventory and cost of sales Strategic partner with the plants/business to create efficiencies and to enhance financial reporting and performance Standard cost process improvements and documentation Responsible for transition of inventory & costing when acquiring various businesses Overhead costs and absorption costing Obsolete inventory process and reserve Month-end gross margin analysis Coordinate with site managers on physical inventory. Review and reconciliation of COGS accounts Prepare journal entries for assigned areas during month-end close Offer suggestions for enhanced internal controls Support implementation/transfer to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Special projects as neededRequirements - Bachelors degree in accounting or related field

Aptitude for analyzing financial data and generating accurate reports in a timely manner

Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

Knowledge of organizational accounting concepts

High analytical and extremely detailed

2 years of Cost Accounting work experience

Strong knowledge of cost management methodologies, activities, and cost pools based on direct and indirect cost rates
