Position Summary:

The Data Governance Manager is primarily responsible is for overseeing both the technical and managerial aspects of the organization's Data Governance team. This role oversees and directs the day-to-day activities of the organization's Data Governance and MDM team, ensuring that programs, projects, and solutions are following strategy roadmaps and progressing on time and on budget. This role will lead teams that develop and implement data enablement processes. This can/will include master data management, data governance, and data architecture practices.

Must provide guidance and leadership to the IT department and its members, but also directly supports the business by helping to find the right solutions to provide the most business value to the organization.

Essential Position Duties:
  • Manage the Data Governance team members (both internal and partners) and solution delivery
  • Roll out an enterprise wide data governance framework, with a focus on improvement of data quality and the protection of sensitive data through modifications to organization behavior policies and standards, principles, governance metrics, processes, related tools and data architecture
  • Define roles and responsibilities related to data governance and ensure clear accountability for stewardship of the company's principal information assets
  • Develop & maintain inventory of the enterprise information maps, including authoritative systems, owners
  • Facilitate the development and implementation of data quality standards, data protection standards and adoption requirements across the enterprise
  • Define indicators of performance and quality metrics and ensure compliance with data related policies, standards, roles and responsibilities, and adoption requirements
  • Assess vendors from both tooling and resource/partnering perspectives
  • Additional duties as assigned

Education & Experience:
  • 5+ years' experience
  • Bachelor's degree in informatics, data science, computer science or related degree
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience leading data teams
  • Knowledge or experience with Data Governance and Master Data Management and related concepts
  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
  • Excellent project management skills and strong ability to prioritize.
  • Firm grasp on data solution and operations best practices

Primary environment: ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment.
