Desktop Support Specialist CANDIDATES MUST BE FULLY COVID 19 VACCINATED? Candidate must be authorized to work in USA without requiring sponsorship Position: Desktop Support Specialist (Job Id:# WLPTJP00041370/ WLPTJP00041371)Location: Indianapolis IN 46250Duration: 12 Months + Strong Possible Extension Required Skills:- Responsible for troubleshooting and repairing complex computer hardware problems utilizing advanced tools and manufacturer resources.
- Primary duties may include, but are not limited to: Meets with customers to recommend hardware that meets their needs.
- Assists other technicians with complex hardware installations and customer needs assessments. Works with the software bundling team on defining technical building requirements for new applications Assists the Software Deployment team in troubleshooting instances when packages cannot be deployed as part of large scale software deliveries. Provides remote-hands work for other IT groups or outsourcers.
- Troubleshoots and repairs complex computer software problems. Participates in single and large scale moves and move plan meetings.
- Performs Tech Refresh installations and end user acceptance testing.
- Works with external contract labor to conduct Tech Refresh work on schedule. Responsible for the progression of Tech Refresh and overseeing that adequate stock is onsite, salvage runs are routinely performed, and the Asset Management database is performed. Participates in other lights-on projects where technical resources are needed. Attends regularly scheduled project meetings and may provide technical and logistical advice to a project team.
- Mentors and assists other technicians with hardware related problems.
- Requires Associate degree or Technical School certification; 5 years information systems experience with expert knowledge PC hardware and Operating Systems software, tools and techniques;
- Dell hardware certification required; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Microsoft A+, Network+ and MCSA or MCDST certifications preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of networking, telecommunications, applications and/or configuration management required.
