Job Description

Actively inform all families with eligible children within the recruitment area of the availability of program services, and encourage and assist them in applying for admission to the program. Collaborate with community partners to actively locate and recruit children with disabilities and other vulnerable children, including homeless children and children in foster care.Link families to needed community services.

1.Implements outreach and enrollment efforts by communicating the program’s eligibility, selection, and enrollment policies and practices to families, other service providers, and the general public. Recruits children by coordinating with and accessing a wide range of community contacts and resources and engaging them in the recruitment process.

2.Prepares intake/enrollment applications, documents eligibility information, and determines eligibility for the Program and USDA programs.

3.Provides information and education to parents and the community about available programs and other community resources. This can be done in-person, by telephone or a group presentation format.

4.Meets federal, state, and program documentation requirements by maintaining accurate, objective, complete, timely, and well-organized child and family records

5.The person in this position must have the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.

6.Protects the safety of children by ensuring the implementation of active supervision techniques to ensure no child is left alone or unsupervised at any time.

7.Ensures the mobilization and documentation of matching/in-kind funds.

8.Assists with the health care of children at the center level in states where applicable. This includes assisting with the maintenance of child health records and confidentiality, scheduling health and dental examinations with contracted physicians and dentists, and assisting with health screenings.

9.Assist in community assessment activities.

10.Works in cooperation with supervisor to develop and document progress on professional development plan. Actively engages in professional development activities to increase qualifications in accordance with Corporation’s Core Values.

11.May perform duties of other staff members (Teacher, Bus Monitor, Center Aide, Teacher’s Assistant) in time of staff shortage.

12.Fills in on a temporary basis for facility staff when the staff member needs to leave the classroom for a short duration.

13.Attends center and home base functions such as staff meetings, parent meetings and special events.

14.May translate.

15.Perform all other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

This position has no direct supervisory duties but is expected to train or explain work procedures to others.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

High school or G.E.D. is required.

Must be able to get certification for CPR and First Aid after hire and recertify as required.

Experience working with low-income families preferred.

Must have own transportation, a valid driver’s license, and vehicle insurance.

Skills and Abilities:

Microsoft Office products and on-line client management systems.

Bilingual ability is required. [Supervisor may change this to preferred as vacancy is posted if program language waiver has been approved.]

Additional Information

Work is performed mostly in the community, in a variety of settings.

Driving/sitting for prolonged periods of time.

Sitting walking, stooping, squatting, lifting (up to30 lbs), carrying, pushing and climbing.

Frequent exposure to adverse weather conditions.

Subject to long periods of sitting and exposure to computer screen.

Keyboarding and data entry, use of telephone.

Conduct outreach and home visits to customer residences, exposure to potentially unsafe environments, climb stairs.
