Material Handler - 2nd Shift

The material handler is responsible for the movement of material throughout the site. This may include loading / unloading of trailers and movement of raw materials, work in process (WIP) and finished goods. This role will be 2nd Shift, M - FActivities and duties may vary, dependent upon site-specific needs. Essential functions may include, but are not limited to:Move material to / from raw, WIP, Finishing, Shipping, Receiving and manufacturing areas.Unload / load trucks / tankers with incoming / outgoing materials.Verify materials against Receiving / Shipping documents.Complete appropriate transactions to document the movement of material within the Inventory Management System.Support inventory accuracy: Complete warehouse and departmental cycle counts and correct discrepancies. Help manage winding drum and rack inventories.Raw / Finishing warehouse: Pick up and transfer material racks, pallets and other consumable supplies to / from production areas, as required.Condense warehouse space and maintain good housekeeping.Perform all assignments, duties and tasks in a safe manner following standard procedures and practices. Encourage others to do so. Correct and / or report all unsafe conditions immediately.Perform duties to continuously improve quality and productivity.Maintain a safe, clean work area.Assist in equipment maintenance activities, as directed.Communicate and coordinate necessary information to appropriate department / shift employees to ensure effective operations.Lead in the recycling of pallets, cardboard and scrap materials.Support all 5S housekeeping activities.Perform other duties, as assigned by supervisor.
