This includes maximizing and exploiting existing systems at all levels, benchmarking and replicating as much as possible and using data to drive process improvements, productivity & programs speed in the digital plant evolution environment.

This Dedicated Manufacturing IDS position will be part of the Global API MES Team. This team is purposed to deliver and support Manufacturing Execution Systems through common Syncade (Software by Emerson) modules that enable manufacturing sites to deliver world class performance.

The MQ IDS Execution Lead will be responsible for coordinating the development, delivery and deployment of activities associated with the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) for API Manufacturing sites, specially ensuring accelerated implementation through standardization. The person will be responsible to ensure requirements needed for the MES implementation are identified. The responsibilities include leading the process to define, develop, & hand-off the solution to the sites for their implementation, ensuring sites assign required resources, define funding requirements, communications, etc.

The MQ IDS Execution Lead functions as an integrator between Site business & project resources, technology & Suppliers to ensure MES solutions meet business needs. Responsibilities include leadership of the team (technical & business), ensuring business analysis to define strategy and requirements, overseeing the design, prototyping and deployment of MES solutions. The role will help drive site adoption the MES system templates.

This position will report to the Associate Director - Global API MES

Key objectives/deliverables:
  • Ensure global & sites requirements are harmonized to achieve a common template that can be deploy at sites for equivalent processes
  • Define & coordinate activities required to bring together site needs & expectations
  • Guide work of project resources and contract workers
  • Manage capital assigned for the API MES project in work
  • Ensure activities align to the plan to ensure on budget and on time delivery of the project
  • Identified team capabilities needed & communicate to management to ensure appropriate assignment of resources. As new needs emerge within site process ensure team has capability to develop and support those needs
  • Ensure & support harmonization & standardization efforts to drive a more efficient and effective program & a successful recipe template
  • Assure vendor processes are in place
  • Adequate & on time communication to senior management on project progress & update. Escalate when appropriate & ensure proper actions are taken
  • Ensure visibility of the program takes place at the appropriate level.
  • Assure the delivery and program model is the adequate and evolves as required.
  • Serve as liaison among sites to eliminate barriers & ensure program is delivered on time & on budget
  • Ensure effective communications across team resources and supplier provider
  • Lead Governance forum for the initiative

Basic Requirements:
  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • MES or MES Syncade Solution experience
  • Manufacturing site experience, understanding of GMP requirements and experience delivering within those requirements
  • Experience leading diverse team with or without formal supervisory responsibility
  • Ability to influence peers and leadership consistently and significantly
  • Desire and ability to operate at multiple levels (detailed and strategic)
  • Ability to evaluate, facilitate, and drive towards risk-based decision making

Additional Preferences \\ Skills
  • S95 & S88 knowledgeable desired
  • API Site experience
  • Experience managing Business Plan & Forecasting
  • Manufacturing site experience strongly desired
  • Desire and ability to work independently with minimal direction
  • Demonstrated ability to triage issues and escalate only those that are appropriate
  • Demonstrated initiative to build relationships, learn new business processes and identify opportunities
  • Desire and ability to communicate using a variety of methods in diverse forums
  • Experience working globally across organizational levels and in a multicultural environment
  • Fluency in English

Travel/other:
  • Full-Time role
Some travel required to visit sites, vendors and meet team resources, as may have resources working from OUS
