Summary: The Operations Supervisor will have responsibility to manage, train, and direct aspects of the operations of the facility. The incumbent should demonstrate an ability to work with all levels of the organization and customers. The supervisor will be a goal-oriented leader, willing to do what it takes to drive innovation throughout the organization. The ideal candidate will have success in streamlining and creating efficiencies from start to finish.Duties and Responsibilities:Strictly adheres to BlueScope Recycling's health, safety, and environmental standards.Ensures safe work practices and equipment are always used and documentation, inspections, and current practices are in accordance with corporate safety policies, OSHA, and other regulatory guidelines. Provides a safe environment for all employees, customers, and visitors. Coordinates equipment and personnel to support daily operations, including positioning for material processing and loading of scrap. Maintains layout plan for all physical spaces assigned to processing and shipping. Identifies work in progress and finished goods storage bins, as well as equipment process locations to ensure a proper workflow is achieved. Provide backup or assistance throughout the yard as needed or assigned. Monitors and inspects allocated department equipment to ensure all assets are working within stated guidelines. Reports all equipment deficiencies or malfunctions for maintenance or repair to the proper supervisor. Continuously coordinate with shredder operator to ensure hourly quotas are met.
