The Maintenance Manager assists the Plant Engineer in leading and directing salaried and hourly personnel engaged in all phases of the plant engineering function (General Maintenance, Cold End Mechanization, and the Batch and Furnace department).  This includes installation, repair and maintenance of all plant systems, equipment, grounds and facilities.  Supports compliance efforts with local, state and federal regulations concerning environmental affairs, OSHA, NFPA, and other governing agencies. The Maintenance Manager will:Assist in directing preventive maintenance programsConducts periodic inspections of all plant systems, equipment, facilities and grounds.  Assists in implementing corrective actions when necessary.  Oversees all changes or upgrades. Responsible for the quality of all work performed by maintenance and production employees assigned to maintenance groupCoordinates and supervises all construction and service work performed by outside contractors as directed.Assists in overseeing health and safety issues affecting ergonomic factorsSupervises training of personnel to ensure the maintenance team is properly trained to perform all aspects of their roles, while ensuring efficiency and high standards are maintainedCommunicates and directs the application of prescribed safety and environmental regulationsEnsures correct use of safety equipment and that company safety policies are followedMay oversee parts of our plant apprenticeship programThe Maintenance Manager should have:Strong maintenance background in an industrial environmentIn depth knowledge of Plant Electrical Systems, Control Systems, PLCs, AC Motor Drives, Robots, and Quality Inspection SystemsExperience with Lean Six Sigma principles, while developing a continuous improvement culture that involves all relevant hourly and salaried personnelAbility to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization Experience in a high speed packaging environmentStrong computer skills
