As a Product Engineer, you will have the opportunity to: work with cross functional teams to design, develop, and validate new products from concept to launch. You will become a subject matter expert and serve as a mentor for new talent. Your design work will support future state product development and strategic manufacturing roadmap creation.  This position offers a hybrid work schedule with the following: (You must be local to Butler, Indiana)10%-15% Work from home20%-25% Travel between Monclova office and Butler Manufacturing facility50%-60% Working in the Butler Manufacturing facilityThe bullet points below reflect roughly 80% of your job. We are a fast-paced company, you may be pulled in a variety of different directions with tasks added or changed.Learn and apply lean product development tools, systematic problem solving and critical thinking to new product development and continuous improvement projects. Successfully execute the development and implementation of new product introductions and product changesIdentify cost opportunities through platform simplification, product enhancements and lean processing. Understand and actively manage system design requirements, conduct system D/PFMEA’s, design reviews and utilize other robust engineering practices such as DOE’s, tolerance stackups, limit testing, FEA, etc. to bring new products through production into the market place predictably.Liaison with corporate product design, supply chain, vendors, and manufacturing staff for the specification and sourcing of raw materials, components, final products and equipment development.Develop DVP’s, coordinate testing, and provide hands-on troubleshooting to ensure requirements are met.Assure product quality with thorough validation of production fabrication (via executing plant trials), assembly, and installation processes.Provide manufacturing and operations support throughout product development phases using DFM.Work closely with Quality department to address any outstanding internal and external quality and product issues.Support cross-functional team members by mentoring on areas of expertise for technical questions and solutions in at least one engineering or product areaSet examples for excellence in engineering practice and rigor by successfully coaching junior engineers inside and outside of peer reviews as well as design review
