Project Manager4days/week Remote.

Job Summary:The Project Manager serves a unique role within the Office of Data & Analytics to support the agency’s ongoing response to the pandemic. This position, under the guidance of the Director of Engagement and Governance, works closely with program, data, and executive staff to ensure that the collection, processing, reporting, and communication of related data meets the current and future requirements established by the agency. The Project Manager is primarily responsible for implementing project management processes, intake and execution of new data or change requests, organizing timelines, communicating updates, escalating issues that are identified, and providing various reports that provide updates regarding the project’s status. This role will provide essential project management support to ensure minimal disruption during data transformation when existing data pipelines and processes are migrated to a new analytics environment. Critical thinking and advanced problem-solving skills are core behaviors among the team. Strong team and project lead experience will be valuable for this role.

JOB DUTIESCoordinates data related activities between technical staff (data engineers, data scientists, BI developers, etc.), program areas (surveillance, immunization, etc.), and other stakeholders.Supports the executive team, agency directors, and other team members in developing deliverables and sets an appropriate expectation level for these deliverables.Helps interpret and explain specialized or complex material to stakeholders with varying levels of data expertise and works with agency communications team regarding public dissemination of information, as necessary.Ensures project participants are engaged and informed of status and direction of project activities.Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with diverse staff professionals at the local and state levels.Identifies potential project risks and difficulties and develops strategies to mitigate or avoid them.Develops broad understanding of all technical processes (data ingestion, cleansing, dashboard/report development) supporting the project.Works with executive team, agency directors, and other team members to identify and track relevant KPIs.Monitors the project timeline, ensures that key milestones are on-track, and escalates any identified blockers accordingly.

REQUIREMENTSBachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.2-3+ years of demonstrated experience in project management.1+ years of experience in public health, healthcare, health science, or related field preferred.Experience in creating project plans and experience in all phases of the IT lifecycle.Excellent communication skills and experience working in a dynamic team environment.Sound professional judgement in handling emergencies and high priority requests, including resourcefulness, initiative, and tact commensurate with the demands of the position.Ability to evaluate, analyze, and communicate problems in a quick and efficient manner.Experience in developing agendas and presentations and other forms of communication with information that is clear, concise, and interpretable.Skilled in use of applicable software, word processing, databases and spreadsheets including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Required/Desired Skills:
  • 3 Years of Excellent critical thinking, time management, and communication skills Required
  • 2 Years of Ability to understand the data analysis and IT project life cycle and its application in a business setting Required
  • 2 Years of Experience with business/project analysis, developing multiple solutions, and applying decision making principles to select a solution Required
  • 2 Years of Experience facilitating meetings in an inclusive and effective manner Required
  • 2 Years of Strong organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task and track activities Required
  • Ability to evaluate, analyze, and communicate problems in a quick and efficient manner Required
