Description The Provider Contract Specialist will be responsible for contracting medical providers and creating customized healthcare networks to meet the needs of target locations. The Specialist will build and maintain a diverse network of qualified providers at optimal costs. This role requires a strong understanding of and experience with negotiating reimbursement rates.Job Responsibilities

Researching and marketing to hospitals and providers in specific geographic areas. This includes initiating cold calls and follow-up calls, as necessary.

Building a customized provider network with a wide variety of medical specialties based on specific needs.

Working directly with provider contracting departments to negotiate and finalize agreements and contracts.

Providing support for Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Quotes (RFQs) by gathering necessary information from providers.

Assisting in the development and coordination of bid proposals.

Effectively interacting with and presenting contract information to healthcare administrators, physicians, and executives.

Requirements

Prior experience in contracting within healthcare settings preferred.

Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

Minimum of 3+ years in healthcare provider relations or similar experience.

Proven track record of negotiating provider contracts and contract terms.

Advanced knowledge and understanding of reimbursement structures, including Medicare and Medicaid.

Strong communication and organizational skills.
