Purchasing Agent

Description We are seeking a Purchasing Agent to join our team in MOORESVILLE, Indiana. In this role, you will handle a variety of tasks related to procurement and inventory management. You will work closely with different departments to process purchase requests, ensure accuracy in order deliveries, and maintain inventory records in our system. This role provides an opportunity for a contract to hire employment arrangement.Responsibilities: Generate purchase orders for direct and indirect materials within our system based on requests from various departments Verify the quantity of received items against the purchase order and update the system accordingly Ensure the timely delivery of received indirect material items to the respective departments Create new inventory items in the system and reorder general inventory items when required Conduct inventory cycle counts for direct and indirect material items and adjust the system records when necessary Utilize scanner for inventory management purposes Assist in strengthening relationships with suppliers by actively participating in purchasing activities Collaborate in tracking purchasing related schedules, such as supplier development and supplier change Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds as needed throughout the day Utilize accounting software systems such as Epicor, ERP Solutions, and Great Plains to streamline purchasing processes and maintain accurate records.
