Recruiting for Lead Server (Senior Living)

Dining Services employs close to 100 employees on campus serving over 400 seniors in Independent Living, Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing. We are currently recruiting for a Lead Server position. Some details are:

Lead Server (Senior Living)

$17.50/hr - $18.50/hr (based on experience.) with $1 weekend shift differential

Every other weekend off

11a-8p shift, with opportunities for overtime

5 servers and 70 covers at lunch, 9 servers and 120 covers at dinner

The dining room you'll be working in is our Independent Living venue, The Orchard Dining Room. We do a full seated dining experience focused on upscale service. Think of a mid-price steakhouse more than a Denny's. We use real linens and polished glassware and silverware and have a menu featuring everything from chicken tenders and burgers to steak and salmon, as well as a served salad bar.

Our ideal candidate has previous restaurant and/or healthcare dining experience in a leadership position, but we will consider strong candidates with an extensive background in serving and hosting. We want someone reliable with transportation and the ability to get here on time consistently. One perk of this industry over restaurants is that you're out the door no later than 8pm, which is much better than the midnight you'll see working in a restaurant!

Our dining services program is run by individuals with culinary and pastry degrees, a closet full of culinary awards, and decades of experience in the industry. We love to innovate and try new things, but we understand our population and try to cater to their needs and tastes. Our servers are the heart of our operation and make sure that the our residents are well taken care of. You'll work less hard than you ever would in a restaurant, but you'll get way more appreciation from people who are thankful for you. You should expect to find dozens of new grandparents while working here who genuinely enjoy your presence.
