Senior Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor

The Capital Quantity Surveyor will work with the site Capital Lead, Program/Project Managers and Project Engineers across the site self-directed work teams and hub teams to support the delivery of operational and capital projects.Pre-Contract: Accurately taking off and measuring contract/tender Bills of QuantitiesCost planning and estimatingValue engineeringClient managementAbility to review and explain varying forms of contract and clauses, primarily RIAI contracts (if here in Ireland)Ability to decipher drawingsAbility to understand items required but not yet designedPreparation and issue of tender/contract packages to the marketAbility to co-ordinate and manage tender reviews and contractor submissionsPreparation of tender reports including value engineeringPreparation of cost reports detailing returned tenders versus control budgetsAbility to use lessons learned to strengthen tender documentation and project budgets.Finalisation and issue of contract sums and packagesPost Contract:Receive and review interim applicationsMake recommendations against interim applicationsAbility to communicate efficiently within the construction teamMeasurement, valuation and agreement of variationsValue engineering reviews and proposalsMaintain variations logProduce monthly commercial report detailing contract progression and forecasted final accountsRegular pro-active communication with contractorsAbility to maintain the contract for the project durationAdvise team on commercial aspects of contract as the works proceedComplete final remeasuresComplete final accounts and final recommendations.
