PositionAs a cyber security incident manager, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating Pearson VUE cyber security incident management and vulnerability management. Additionally, you will also be engaged as an agile project manager on cyber security team’s internal projects.Description:

Development of cyber security incident management processes:

Executes and continues to evolve the incident management playbook for major incidents

Champions continuous improvement work across teams to drive system stability and operational excellence

Execution of cyber security incident response activities during production incidents:

Leads and facilitates cyber security incident escalation, cross-team coordination, documentation, and reporting including post incident review activities

Single point of contact for communications around cyber security incident and provides end-to-end management and oversight of major cyber security incidents across Pearson VUE

Drives triage activities for major incidents working across multiple application and infrastructure teams

Communicates incident status and resolution to a broader group of business stakeholders, technology, security, legal, and executives using appropriate business acumen and effective communication skills

Accountability for practices around incident closure:

Tracks and manages incident remediation processes to drive findings until closure

Follow through on short-term and long-term fixes for resolution

Additional responsibilities:

Maintains strong partnerships across technology, business, and operational teams

Manage internal cyber security projects using Agile methodology

Qualifications and experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or Technology Operations

5+ years of experience with information security related activities

3+ years of software development project team experience (in any role)

Experience in dealing with cyber incidents

Proven experience in security operations

Working knowledge about SIEM architecture

Strong Agile & Scrum project management experience

Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously

Being able to work with a diverse set of stockholders in the organization from technical through board level.

Ability to interact with senior management stakeholders, with excellent verbal and written communication skills, build strong relationships at all levels and across all business units and organizations, and understand business imperatives

Understanding crisis management, business continuity and disaster recovery procedures

Ability to understand technical topics dealing with technical teams and explain and present them to management level executives

Understanding of security governance, risk, and compliance

Distillation of the security requirements into practical, proportionate, and understandable instructions and guidance across the various software products

Proven track record of successfully leading multiple project teams through the full software development lifecycle to deliver business goals and requirements

Desirable

Certification in one of the following:

GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH)

Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)

PMI-ACP (PMI Agile Certified Practitioner)

Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) Certification

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent organization, prioritization, and coordination skills

Experience driving a culture of security awareness

Ability to provide effective training and education to others

Non-customer facing role but an ability to build strong relationships with internal teams, and security leadership, is essential.

Ability to solve problems systematically and creatively

Results-oriented with strong commitment to tasks

Excellent time management and priority setting skills
