The Shipping Lead will provide support to the Shipping Manager in the day-to-day operations of the department.

- Remaining current on all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and reviewing SOPs with departmental employees as needed.

- Developing and refining job functions within the department while demonstrating techniques for helping employees improve.

- Taking an active role in training new employees.

- Observing, identifying, and documenting issues that impede productivity and safety.

- Identifying problem-solving initiatives for workflow and efficiency improvements.

- Loading and unloading trucks making deliveries.

- Verifying that the product being unloaded matches the BOL and packing slip.

- Operating a forklift.

- Handling hazardous materials and chemical solvents in accordance with trained standards.

- Assisting with physical inventory process.

- Ensuring that materials are issued to appropriate jobs.

- Conducting cycle counts.

- Ensuring inventory accuracy for all raw materials, Work In Progress, parts, and finished goods.

- Accurately recording material counts to be shipped.

- Preparing UPS/FedEx orders for shipment including all associated paperwork, record keeping, and labeling.

- Assisting Receiving Clerks and Material Handlers in the day-to-day functions.

Wage ranges from $19.00 - $21.00 depending on experience

Shift start: 10:00AM Shift length: 10:00am - 10:00pm

Qualifications
Valid driver’s license and must have good driving record.

Minimum two years’ related experience.

Knowledge of safety programs.

Ability to read and write complex instructions, correspondences, and memos.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Strong mathematical skills.

Strong verbal and written communications skills.

Capable of maintaining good attendance.

Work overtime as needed; significant overtime may be required during busy periods.
