Description We are in search of a committed Sr. Cost Accountant to join our team in the Manufacturing industry. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity and is focused on the maintenance and monitoring of cost accounting systems and procedures. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing variances and providing operational and financial data to management. You will also take an active role in standard cost updates, month-end entries, variance analysis tasks, and using your SAP experience to enhance efficiencies within our operations.Responsibilities: Implementation, maintenance, and monitoring of cost accounting systems and procedures. Analysis of variances and provision of operational and financial data to management. Active participation in standard cost updates and month-end entries. Conduct variance analysis tasks to identify and address discrepancies. Utilize your SAP experience to enhance efficiencies within our operations. Perform cost accounting duties in accordance with 'Cost Accounting' and 'Costing' skills. Close entries accurately and efficiently, ensuring all financial data is up to date. Apply 'Accounting Functions' skills to maintain financial integrity and transparency. Contribute positively to the 'Manufacturing' function of our operations.Requirements Proficiency in Accounting Functions with a strong focus on Cost Accounting. Demonstrable experience in Costing and Closing Entries in a food processing or manufacturing environment. Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP system is a must. Prior experience in a senior role within the Manufacturing industry is highly desirable. Strong analytical skills for financial reporting and cost analysis. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to liaise with different departments. Advanced knowledge in using MS Office Suite, particularly Excel for financial analysis and reporting. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. CPA or CMA certification is preferable. Ability to adhere to strict deadlines and work under pressure. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation. Demonstrated ability to think strategically when assisting in the planning process.
