Job Title: Staff AccountantJob DescriptionThe Staff Accountant helps with month-end closing and reporting for the Finance Department. They work under the VP of Accounting/Finance to prepare balance sheets and support financial statement consolidation, account reconciliation, and key accounting functions like month-end and quarter-end close, fixed assets, and audits.Hard Skills

Reconcile general ledger accounts and balance sheet and income statement variances

Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations (e.g., cash, prepaid expenses, payroll)

Perform month-end close tasks independently

Analyze revenue and gross margin by client and service type on a monthly basis

Prepare daily cash report, bank uploads, refunds, and transfers

Apply GAAP consistently across the company

Support capital expenditures process, including approvals, invoice allocation, and asset placement in accounting software

Maintain fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation

Support multiple business units with cash reconciliations and month-end accruals

Consolidate all entities and eliminate intercompany entries

Prepare and book payroll entries, including monthly accruals, and maintain ADP data

Formally prepare, examine, and ensure timeliness of supporting schedules to management

Manage the company credit card program

Assist with internal and external audit preparations

Participate in various initiatives spanning multiple departments

Assist in automating processes and procedures

Implement and maintain internal controls and accounting procedures to ensure GAAP compliance
