About the Role

HG Metals is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Steel Painter to join our fabrication team. The Steel Painter is responsible for preparing, priming, and painting steel materials and structures, ensuring a high-quality finish that meets both project specifications and industry standards.

Responsibilities

Prepare steel surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, or blasting.

Apply primers, coatings, and finishes using spray guns, rollers, or brushes.

Mix and match paints to achieve required colors and finishes.

Inspect completed work to ensure proper coverage, thickness, and adherence to safety/quality standards.

Maintain painting equipment and ensure the work area is safe and organized.

Follow all company and OSHA safety requirements, including use of PPE.

Qualifications

Previous industrial or steel painting experience preferred.

Knowledge of surface preparation and coating systems.

Ability to read and follow work orders and specifications.

Comfortable working in a fabrication shop and outdoor yard environment.

Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
