Supervise paid staff and volunteers including hiring, training, coaching, evaluating and performance management. Lead daily operations of the department and enhance operational success.
Identify and implement creative strategies and methods to engage sufficient volunteers to maintain efficient operations and ensure goals are met.
Assist with the implementation and monitoring of the department's budget, goals and objectives.
Consult with internal departments with creating and maintaining effective volunteer engagement plans and unit needs. Develop a volunteer needs assessment and ensure alignment of goals to volunteer needs.
Ensure staff is properly prepared to work with, monitor, and evaluate volunteer performance.
Coordinate and implement training and communication efforts as necessary.
Lead implementation and execution of programs and events related to volunteer services.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEEDQualifications:Education: Bachelor's degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience.Experience: Minimum of 3 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience.Management Experience: Minimum of 1 year lead or supervisory experience of staff or volunteers.Skills and Abilities: Excellent oral and written communication skills, including training and presentation skills is required. Computer knowledge is required. High level of professionalism, discretion and ability to handle confidential matters is required. Knowledge of group dynamics, negotiation skills, and the ability to effectively implement programs is preferred.
