Description We are seeking a VP, Compliance Officer to join our team in the banking industry, based in Carmel, Indiana. This role involves ensuring regulatory compliance, conducting audits, and implementing internal controls. The individual will also need to demonstrate familiarity with banking regulations, including CRA, AML, and fair lending practices.Responsibilities: Oversee compliance testing procedures and ensure they adhere to both internal and external regulations. Conduct regular audits to identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk. Implement internal controls and supervise their efficient operation. Develop and manage a sound compliance program that aligns with the company's business objectives. Maintain knowledge of banking regulations, including Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and Fair Lending practices. Handle regulatory inquiries and manage relationships with regulatory bodies. Collaborate with other departments to create a culture of compliance throughout the organization. Monitor and analyze legal and regulatory developments and assess their impact on the business. Develop and deliver compliance training and awareness programs. Implement corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues, and provide general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future. Requirements Must have a minimum of 7 years of experience in a compliance role within the banking industry Proficiency in auditing, with a focus on banking compliance and regulation Extensive knowledge of commercial banking and community banking practices Familiarity with Federal Banking Regulation is essential Clear understanding of fair lending laws and principles Strong communication and leadership skills Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field is preferred Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) certification is a plus Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks Proficiency in using compliance management systems and software Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
