Come soar with us!The Collins Aerospace Avionics Tools organization is seeking an entry level Software Engineering intern with a passion for problem solving. You will improve and develop new tools that increase consistency, efficiency, and productivity of product development and testing across avionics systems for internal and external customers. This is an exciting opportunity to begin your career in avionics and work with a variety of different aircraft domains. This position requires a candidate with a strong customer focus, highly effective communication skills, and the ability to prioritize and advance multiple objectives. This position is full-time, Monday-Friday, and will run May/June- December; it is only eligible for current students with a graduation date past December 2024.This position is based out of our Cedar Rapids, IA site location; may be eligible for relocation.Primary Responsibilities:
Code, integrate, test, debug, and document engineering tools.
Contribute to cross-functional team integration, verification, and validation activities.
Estimate effort for assigned tasks.
Participate in software code and requirements reviews.
Contribute to software engineering requirements definition for well-defined software designs.
Report status of support requests and assigned tasks.
Effectively interact and build trust with peers from varied backgrounds and different engineering teams.
Basic Qualifications:
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge or experience in software requirements capture, design, and decomposition.
Experience with YML, JAVA, Python (Cerberus, Jinja2, SQLAlchemy, PyYAML), C, and/or Pearl.
Understanding of database technologies (Objectivity, Oracle, SQLite, etc.)
Experience in Agile Application Development & Scrum methodologies
Experience with object-oriented query language design
