Collections Specialist

Description Robert Half is seeking a skilled and results-driven Collections Specialist to join our valued client in the manufacturing industry. This is an excellent opportunity to leverage your expertise in business-to-business (B2B) collections and make an immediate impact on the financial health of a well-established organization.Key Responsibilities:

Manage the accounts receivable collections process by proactively contacting business customers via phone and email to resolve overdue balances.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to resolve payment issues and disputes quickly and professionally.

Monitor the aging report and prioritize collection efforts to meet or exceed defined company goals.

Research and resolve discrepancies by working closely with internal departments, such as sales and customer service, to ensure timely resolution of billing issues.

Accurately record collection efforts, payment arrangements, and customer interactions in the company’s system of record.

Prepare regular status reports on open accounts, including identifying trends and recommending process improvements to reduce aging balances.

Assist with month-end closing by reconciling accounts and ensuring outstanding debts are properly documented.

Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and legal standards related to collections activities.

Requirements

2+ years of B2B collections experience, ideally in a manufacturing or similar environment.

Strong proficiency in accounts receivable processes and collections best practices.

Experience working with accounting/ERP software such as QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to professionally resolve payment and billing issues.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

High attention to detail and accuracy in recordkeeping and data entry.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office tools.
