About the opportunity:As a member of the Health Equity/Access & Improvement team, you will be responsible for successfully collaborating and managing the execution of community-wide health and wellbeing improvement initiatives that focus on social determinants of health. As a subject matter expert using data-driven research and analysis, you will identify Iowa and South Dakota communities needing high-impact health equity and improvement interventions and assist these communities in identifying social determinants of health that are causing poor health outcomes for their residents. You will leverage your community health expertise to aid the community in building a master plan comprised of evidence-based solutions that address these issues and engage the community. In conjunction with community organizations and volunteers, you will track and measure community engagement and outcomes relative to implemented initiatives.About you:You are passionate about improving the health and well-being of others in support of Wellmark's mission and values. You are an organized and detail-oriented planner and utilize your data-driven research and analysis skills to build and execute strong evidence-based community solutions. You are a confident and influential professional with strong written and verbal communication skills that aid you in consultation and collaboration with a wide variety of individuals. While you can 'command a room,' you balance this skill with active listening and have the ability to respond tactfully to audience questions and comments. You love to educate and teach others to make a lasting and impactful difference in our communities. You excel when you can rally and work with community leaders to transform community health through consistent planning, facilitation, development, and execution of initiatives. You are not afraid to reach out to passive communities to join together Wellmark's efforts with the community's own to form a successful coalition.
