Position Summary:

The is an exciting new position that will lead the efforts of the Emerson Strategic Product Business Unitsto improve our business tools and systems to deliver continuous process improvement across data analytics and metrics reporting.The leader will be responsible for developing and implementing a strategic plan including standards and governance for capturing, storing, modeling, and delivering data for both internal and external functional engineering toolsused within the SPBUs. The leader will also be responsible for providing SPBU input to Information Technology and other business process teams on sales channel tools such as Fisher First 2 and customer facing tools such as Fisher Specification Manager. This position will also establish governance and guidance on customer facing tools developed in the business units such as mobile applications or prognostic websites. The SPBU tools manager will also champion intelligent automation of data inputs for data processing and decisions. This role will collaborate with users and stakeholders, converting those needs into requirements, as well as working with internal and external partners and vendors to ensure timely support of configuration changes and data quality within the systems. This role will also be responsible for timely delivery of operational metrics and business key performance indicators.

As the Data Architect Manager, you will:
  • Serve as the business lead to drive the implementation of various tools and systems within the business units.
  • Responsible for policy and strategy implementation of tools within the SPBUs.
  • Investigate new functionality for applicability to the SPBU business needs.
  • Assist in the technical and commercial evaluation of business systems and tools, including working with stakeholders to review functionality, and estimating installation and ownership costs.
  • Lead change management related to tools use including creating and delivering training on existing and new business processes for groups that will utilize the tools.
  • Developing test methods and approaches to validate new processes.
  • Developing and implementing business process audits to ensure they are being executed effectively and as designed.
  • Gather, prepare, and help prioritize the functional requirement specifications.
  • Apply Human Centered Design techniques to the development of tools.
  • Interact with key stakeholders, including implementation teams such as, IT, the Fusion team, and Fisher First 2 team.
  • This role will lead the efforts for the SPBUs related to intelligent automation of data inputs used in various tools.

Education / Experience Required:
  • Bachelors degree (4 year) required
  • 5+ years experience in a related business function, such as project manager or other key involvement in the implementation of IT tools.
  • Knowledge or SAP, Oracle or ERP systems would be beneficial for this role.

Education / Experience Preferred:
  • Bachelor's Degree in IT, Computer Scienceor Engineering preferred
  • Project Management certification preferred
  • Knowledge of Lean concepts and Agile development is preferred

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
  • Project Management skills working with various stakeholders and implementation teams to implement the tool as a project.
  • Experience with the implementation of software systems
  • Ability to develop, present, and implement a tools strategic plan
  • Strong influence management skills
