Job DescriptionIowa Department of Education’s mission is ensuring all students experience a world-class education. To accomplish our mission, we need talented, passionate people working together to build an excellent education system that empowers all students to achieve their full potential.The Education Program Consultant will be an integral member of the Bureau of School Improvement.Your Responsibilities:

Lead, develop processes and support work to create, disseminate, and provide technical assistance for required professional developments (as pursuant Iowa Code section 256.9 subsection 66, established under 2023 Iowa Acts, ch. 96, which directs the Iowa Department of Education to develop and distribute to school districts a list of all professional development programs and other training programs in which employees of school districts are required to participate pursuant to federal law or state law, including chapter 284.) Collaborate with special education personnel to create, develop, and support the implementation of instructional strategies to improve specially designed instruction and learning for all students.

Develop all required professional development. Establish process and procedures to ensure high quality of instructional design through the use of e-learning technologies and tools.

Lead the identification and implementation of a Learning Management System (LMS) that will be utilized to house required professional development. Maintain the system and provide technical assistance in use of the system. Support operations in LMS, including account provisioning and access, and user permissions.

Establish and maintain a system of managing participation, tracking progress and distributing transcripts. Regularly compile, review, and process course enrollment data.

Work across the agency to build professional development and customize modules that support the priority work of the Department.
