Attached to the hospital is a 50,000-square-foot medical office building containing local physician practices and the hospital’s physical medicine and rehabilitation center.MercyOne Newton is one of the largest employers in Jasper County, along with the local school system and the county government.ResponsibilitiesJOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the admission of the patient to the hospital when the patient is admitted through the Emergency Department. Assists with the collection of data from the Emergency Services patient and their family, contacting ancillary staff as needed, making transfer arrangements, and ordering and maintaining office supplies. Responsible for assisting with collection and input of data as needed for QI. Works closely with the patients, patient families, physician offices and the financial/clinical departments to ensure accurate data capture and customer service. Locations for data capture include the Business Office, and bedside registration and inpatient admissions. The Support Associate operates the hospital switchboard, maintains a cash drawer for patient payments / internal cashier and is the center of communication for the hospital. Assists and supports ED staff members to ensure quality patient care and efficient department operations.QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS:
