In Johnston, IA, our client is seeking a Research Assistant to work in a greenhouse, including weekend hours. The position will assist with seeding, pollinating, transplanting plants, watering harvesting tissue sampling, and data collection. Daily greenhouse plant care, including seeding, pollinating, transporting, watering, harvesting, and seed handling for various crops.
Cut and store samples of plant tissue and delivery of laboratory analysis.
Assist with experiments, collecting data, and maintaining records.
Perform routine greenhouse sanitation tasks like discarding regulated material and removing waste
What’s Needed?
HS Diploma/GED. AA/BA preferred in agriculture, horticulture, plant physiology or molecular biology, or 2 years of equivalent experience.
Strong attention to detail and basic computer skills
Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time, extensive walking, and lift up to 30 lbs.
Able to work in a warm, humid greenhouse with pollen present year-round

Weekly pay
Bonus: $500 paid after 6 months, $1000 paid after 12 months.
