Sr. Software Engineer with Guidewire CertificationLocation: Des Moines, Iowa but this position can be remote This is a 12 month contract to hire role and the client will sponsor if needed.

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a computer related field or equivalent related experience and eight years of programming experience including Guidewire PolicyCenter configuration and GOSU with PolicyCenter
• Master’s degree, preferably in a computer related field or equivalent related experience and six years of programming experience including Guidewire PolicyCenter configuration and GOSU with PolicyCenter
• Guidewire Policy Center Certification
• Experience with PolicyCenter version 10
• Experience with Java, React, jQuery and SQL Server, or GIT
• Prior experience with cloud technologies like AWS

• Excellent knowledge of object-oriented programming concepts
• Excellent knowledge of the Java development language preferred
• Guidewire Cloud experience preferred
• Advanced knowledge of HTML, Bootstrap, and Guidewire Studio
• Strong knowledge of Agile development
• Excellent knowledge of Test-Driven Development
• Excellent human relations and customer service skills
• Thorough attention to detail, organizational and multi-tasking skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including documentation
• Superior analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify problems and implement effective solutions
• Ability to work after hours on call as needed

• Programs within multiple complex, inter-related systems, using techniques and languages such as C#, ASP.NET, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, XML, REST, Java, VB, Groovy, Python, Powershell, REACT and Objective C
• Designs and develops architecture for business applications and core services independently
• Leads the effort for designing interfaces to complex enterprise and third-party applications
• Ensures the efficient use of core services, packages and Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) in product teams
• Oversees test driven development, including application test cases and application validations for configurations to ensure they meet business requirements, performance level, and availability thresholds
• Designs security protocols, including encryption or password protection, and ensures that they are appropriately applied to systems
• Mentors and trains team members on programming techniques and system functionality
• Provides leadership direction to product teams in latest technology, standards and processes
• Pioneers the use of emerging technologies and determines and promotes applicability for future projects and possible integration
