The Industrial Electrician will install or maintain electrical systems for equipment or facilities in accordance with Iowa State Building and Electrical codes.The electrician is located in Jesup, and works Monday -Thursday 5:30am -4:00pm. Overtime hours are on Friday and are determined by management.Duties and ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoots, diagnoses, and corrects electrical problems in production and support equipment.Installs, removes, repairs, overhauls, and tests electrical equipment.Performs installation, removal, and repair of equipment such as switchgear, transformers, starters, controllers, capacitors, and production equipment power and control systems (such as PLC).Performs installation, removal, and repair of electrical equipment such as switchgear, transformers, starters, controllers, capacitors, and production equipment power and control systems.Assists in the diagnosis of electrical problems and recommends solutions.Maintains a high level of safety awareness on all work assignments.Works to meet current electrical codes and company policy and practices.Reads electrical and related blueprints.Is able to determine proper components and installation requirements.Possesses skill to use all necessary electrical tools.Maintains proficiency in the appropriate Iowa State Building and Electrical Codes.Identifies opportunities for improving facility equipment and labor performance.Uses facility Computerized Maintenance Management System to document all scheduled predictive and preventative maintenance tasks, emergency procedures, and labor activities.Coordinates with contractors and vendors to maintain the backup generators and documents the schedule preventative maintenance performed.Cleans job site and tools. Stores tools and equipment in designated places in an organized manner.Follows lockout/tagout policy.Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
