Medical Receptionist

Description Are you looking for an opportunity to further your knowledge in the medical receptionist field? If so, we are on the search to find someone wanting to help out in the medical industry on a long-term project. This project would be on-site in the Des Moines. IA area. In this opportunity you would have the chance to be the first smile people see when they walk in the door. Someone who is caring and has empathy for others would make a good candidate. You would be putting your scheduling and phone skills to the test in this role! Responsibilities include:

Greeting patients and visitors in a courteous and friendly manner.

Answering incoming telephone calls, determining the nature of callers’ concerns, and routing calls appropriately.

Scheduling and confirming patient appointments, surgeries, and medical consultations.

Gathering patient information and maintaining patient confidentiality by following regulations and guidelines.

Organizing and accurately maintaining paper and electronic filing systems.

Assisting with billing procedures and insurance claim paperwork.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience as a receptionist, preferably in a medical setting.

Knowledge of medical terminology and hospital, clinic, or laboratory procedures.

Strong administrative and organizational skills.

Familiarity with healthcare billing procedures.

Excellent customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written.
