NETWORK ENGINEER FOR POWERFUL ESSENTIAL SERVICES COMPANY!

In this direct hire opportunity, you will work with our Network Architect to implement, manage, and maintain computer and service provider networks, such as a FTTH internet network, municipal area network, fixed wireless network, and IPTV network. You will perform service provider and enterprise class network modeling, analysis, and planning support. Research and recommend service provider and enterprise class network and data communications hardware and software. Support, monitor, test and evaluate, and troubleshoot service provider network and enterprise server hardware and software systems as required.What Will You Be Doing?1. Lead service provider network operations, maintenance, support, or upgrades. 2. Assist in all phases of capital and large expense projects, including installation and support of hardware and software integration testing and implementation.3. Create, evaluate, and verify documentation for implemented hardware, software, and deployed systems as needed, including network specifications, diagrams, charts, configurations, installation procedures, and troubleshooting procedures.4. Other duties as assigned.

What Does Your Background Look Like to Be Successful?
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, electronic engineering or related course of study.
  • 3+ years of operational experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Preferred experience would include proficiency in the support/implementation of routing protocols/technologies and topologies in a service provider environment such BGP, IGP’s, IOS/XE/XR, MPLS VPN, Multicast, HSRP/VRRP, VRF, VPC, VC, LACP
  • Experience with technologies, products, solutions, and vendors industry standard carrier grade hardware, such as: Cisco / Arista / Accedian Networks / Juniper / Adtran.
  • Service provider level experience with configuration and monitoring tools, solutions, and strategies such as PRTG, DNA, Orchestrator, Ansible, Solarwinds, and Mosiac.
  • Tested or certified in one or more of the following: CCNP, CCDP, CCIE – SP.
  • Advanced knowledge of technical/business environment and problem determination.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, either as team leader or a member of a team and ability to coordinate and direct activities across multiple teams read, and interpret drawings, schematics, specifications, and technical manuals. Volt is an equal opportunity employer.
