Employment Type:Full timeShift:Day ShiftDescription:Position PurposeThe Perioperative Services Business Analyst manages processes associated with the business and IT activities of the Perioperative Services Department. This individual supports business, IT and clinical functions of all areas of the department including operating room, GI lab, post anesthesia care unit, same day surgery, anesthesia department and central sterile supply, while meeting the mission, vision and values of MercyOne Medical Center Clinton. Responsible for production and distribution of standard and custom reports. Analyzes quantitative and qualitative data and makes recommendations based on trends and findings.What You Will Do
Is the Perioperative lead interfacing with the IT department and acts as a liaison between Perioperative Services and the IT department.
Provides IT support for clinical staff using Perioperative Services EMR.
Assists with capture of relevant case data and develops reports as needed/requested to support the department.
Performs daily functions that support charge capture, materials management and revenue generation for Perioperative Services.
Produces monthly reports to satisfy governmental, organization and department needs.
Supports opportunities for standardization and analyses items used on surgical cases for cost containment and use of resources.
Develops reports, collects and analyzes meaningful data to provide input for departmental operational decisions, resource management, and service line growth.
Uses research, critical thinking and creative problem solving to meet the needs of department customers.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience in, Health Information Technology, IT or related fields in a healthcare setting. Bachelor's degree preferred.
Strong analytical and critical thinking ability.
Strong working knowledge in Excel, Word and other Microsoft Office products.
Demonstrated ability to explain analyses in an easy to understand way for leaders and physicians.
Able to quickly acquire and absorb product and industry knowledge and produce content for diverse audiences.
A propensity for a high degree of interpersonal skills to deal with a range of complicated problem situations.
Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity, and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission and vision, goals, and values of Trinity Health.
