Job Title: Pipe LayerJob DescriptionWork in a trench/ditch setting to lay bedding rock and utilities pipe. Direct the operator to avoid pre-existing utility lines. Responsible for rock grading, setting rock, lining up the pipe, and cutting the ditch to grade. Dig with a shovel in wet ditches and use a laser to determine grading, depths, and ridges. Continuously lift rock, pipe, and other heavy equipment. This is a highly repetitive and strenuous job, with occasional tasks in sewer water if a pipe bursts. Count and record footage of pipe and signal to the operator continuously.Hard Skills

Job TypeThis is a permanent position.Work SiteThis is a fully on-site position in Nevada, Iowa.Work EnvironmentProjects range from 5 feet deep to 40 feet deep. Operate 100% within OSHA guidelines, using trench boxes and other safety measures. Work all day with the operator, requiring excellent communication to reduce turnover. The pipe layer will work with a team of 2-4 other people. Dress code includes jeans, T-shirt (no sleeveless), and steel-toe shoes. PPE such as hard hat, safety glasses, vest, and gloves are provided.
