Python Developer (Full Stack) West Des Moines, IA Contract Roles and Responsibilities: Builds and maintains effective information software applications that assist the company in minimizing administrative costs and maximizing information flow. Designs, codes, tests, debugs, documents, and implements changes to new and existing software applications. Contribute conversion of application from one technology to a new technology stack Provides accurate estimates and plans for new business needs. Demonstrates ability to resolve complex software issues related to a single application. Participates in design and codes small to large software applications as part of a team. Documents code with guidance from senior team members. Performs application testing to assure delivery meets the user's requirements. Assists project managers in conducting fact-findings, which will result in the formulation and definition of the system scope and objectives for developing or modifying information software applications. Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively within own team, across other IT teams and management. Expectation and Skills: 6+ years' experience developing software products At least 2 years hands-on experience developing applications with Python Familiarity with writing and optimizing SQL queries is required Experience in migrating applications from one tech stack to a different one Experience with Python in an AWS environment is a bonus, especially Python lambda functions in AWS Development experience using C# is a plus Ability to contribute anywhere in the stack and wear multiple hats A focus on quality: Write your own unit tests, integrations tests Focus on data-driven decision making and learning by experimentation Familiarity with Agile Methodology Test-Driven Development and software design patterns Technology skills: Python, PythonScript, SQL, experienced in AWS (preferred EC2, RDS, SES, S3, lambda), C# (nice to have)
