Job DescriptionPerforms advanced level security work in a lead work or specialist capacity to maintain the safety and security of the Iowa DOC, Clarinda Correctional Facility in an adult male correctional institution; performs related work as required. Ongoing direct contact and supervision of incarcerated individuals to enforce and maintain discipline, safety and security within a correctional facility and has assigned lead work or specialty security duties. Specified position, primary responsibility is within the institutions receiving and discharge area. In addition responsibilities include distribution of commissary to the Incarcerated Individuals of Clarinda Correctional Facility. Ability to keep accurate information in relation to offender property inventories and updating applicable records. Hour of work for this position will be Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday 10 am to 6 pm and Thursday 12pm to 8 pm w/ Saturday & Sunday off. Minimum Qualification RequirementsApplicants must meet at least one of the following minimum requirements to qualify for positions in this job classification:

Graduation from high school, GED, or equivalency, and experience equal to one year of full-time work as a correctional officer.

Two years of full-time work experience as a law enforcement officer.

Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes eighteen months of full-time work as a Correctional Food Service Coordinator, State Industries Technician, or position whose duties included leading/directing incarcerated individuals and security work (e.g., conducting shakedowns, escorting incarcerated individuals, quelling disturbances, etc.)
