; Description: ; Responsibilities:
; Duties will include:
Generate a detailed biological sample inventory in the lab.
Reconcile the physical inventory with all available electronic documentation for the collection(s) and generate a single master document with all required information.
Migrate inventory records into databases.
Culture and process microbial strains.
Extract and measure DNA from various biological samples.
Provide support in sample prep for whole genome sequencing.
Maintain inventory of basic lab supplies and equipment.
; Requirements:
At least 1 year of extensive laboratory experience.
Proficient knowledge of and experience in aseptic techniques.
Ability to work with BSL-2 microorganisms.
Very good organization skills.
Experience with molecular biology techniques.
Experience in genomic DNA extraction from biological samples.
Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word.
Experience with Access and basic computer programming is preferred but not required. ; Education: Bachelors Degree
