This organization is responsible for leading and supporting system development and integration on our Integrated Platform System (IPS) avionics platforms used on our military and commercial derivative avionics products. The IPS Special mission team is a group of system engineers that lead and develop large avionics architectures. These architectures are on various programs including Cargo refueling, and airborne communication platforms. The team culture operates on “Leader-Leader” mentality. Each team member is a leader and has full accountability and ownership of their tasks and the project. The team has 4 pillars that help define its success

Primary Responsibilities:

Ownership of technical leadership, design, development, and test activities of a Fusion avionics systems of systems program for Military special mission aircraft.

Lead system projects, pursuits, and bid activities, provide technical guidance, and drive multi-disciplinary engineering teams.

Support internal and external stakeholders as the primary technical point of contact, including customer working groups, PDR/CDR.

Evaluate & document current (and define future) architectures to solve business problems.

Be a primary technical point of contact to external customers.

Primary lead in complex IO definition, clean sheet design and architecture reviews.

Leads and directs others ad-hoc and unintended function testing.

Qualifications/Experience Needed:

Experience in software, hardware, or systems engineering disciplines enabling effective technical leadership during pursuit, capture, or execution of programs.

Experience with civil-certified programs.

Demonstrated ability to identify complex problems, evaluate options, and develop solutions.

Demonstrated ability to take ownership of tasks and lead technical efforts spanning multiple stakeholders and be able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization as well as customers.

Leadership experience in the agile framework such as Scrum Master, Product Owner, etc.

Ability to balance cost/schedule/quality and make decisions.  

Ability to travel 25 % of the time.

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience

Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident "Green Card" holder.

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of DO178 B/ C , DO-254, ARP4754A, and DO-297 certification processes.

Experience with test tools such as TNT, TLDB, ACS, and VISTA.

Experience with configuration management tools such as DOORS/JAMA, JIRA/Confluence.

Experience with the Pro Line Fusion architecture.
