HYBRID Network Engineer role onsite in Des Moines, Iowa The Senior Network Engineer assists in analyzing, planning, implementing, maintaining, troubleshooting and enhancing large complex systems or networks. These may consist of a combination that include virtual environments, desktops, public/private cloud networks, LANS, WANs, wireless, internet, intranet, and the physical and logical components that integrate these systems together as an enterprise networking backbone. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Collaborates with network team to design, implement, and administrate network infrastructure. Establishes networking environment by installing, configuring, testing and documenting the equipment/network systems according to the design and specifications. Leads the performance of day-to-day networking tasks to ensure network reliability, availability, and serviceability within minimal interruption. Provides technical support, responds to tickets from the users, analyzes and solves reported network problems. Leads in the configuration of firewall security policy configuration. Leads network technology upgrade or expansion projects, including installation of hardware, software, and integration testing, as well as coordinating these activities without disturbing function of other systems. Leads in the development and production of complex documentation for installation, network topology, and troubleshooting of communications hardware or software. Provides on-call networking technical support.EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; plus eight (8) years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience In depth experience with Aruba, Palo Alto, and Cisco systems Experience with Azure, AWS, or Google PaaS network infrastructureCERTIFICATES, LICENSES, PROFESSIONAL DESIGNATIONS: Maintain professional level certifications in respective network technologies.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Advanced knowledge of networking concepts to include BGP routing. Proven experience and success with cloud networking as well as on-prem LAN, WAN, WLAN, and WWAN design and implementation. Attention to detail and excellent critical thinking, communication and problem-solving skills. Proven experience with network capacity planning, network security principles, and general network management best practices.
