Description We are providing an opportunity for a Staff Accountant to be a part of our team based in Marion, Iowa. This role is crucial within our organization and offers a contract to hire employment opportunity. As a Staff Accountant, you will be entrusted with a range of responsibilities, including processing customer applications, maintaining precise customer records, and resolving customer inquiries.Responsibilities: Accurately setting up customer jobs in the accounting system in a timely manner. Facilitating cost account meetings with Project Managers to review and analyze cost information, and update notes in the collaboration tool. Preparing and posting project accounting adjustments by updating estimates, increasing contract amounts, and adding change orders. Reviewing collaboration tool to determine customer billing requirements and preparing customer invoices accordingly. Sending weekly time reports to customers and reviewing job sales and use tax issues. Providing assistance in researching job numbers to Payroll and Accounts Payable. Closing customer jobs upon completion and monitoring and maintaining assigned customer accounts. Processing customer credit card payments as needed and documenting internal processes and process changes. Assisting in identifying team goals and being a key participant in achieving these goals. Assisting with answering phones and front desk support, and understanding and following all safety, conduct, and policy requirements established.Requirements Must hold a minimum of 2 years of experience in project accounting or in a similar role. Ability to manage project plans and track projects efficiently. Proficient in performing tax projections and cost accounting. Capable of handling order management and customer pricing. Experience in financial reporting is necessary. Strong skills in using Microsoft Excel and pivot tables are required. Must have strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Familiarity with accounting software and platforms. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Must adhere to professional standards and regulations of the accounting industry. Should have a problem-solving attitude and ability to think critically.
