Staff Accountant

Description We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of accounting functions, including processing invoices and preparing journal entries. You will also be expected to maintain accurate records and undertake account reconciliations. Responsibilities: Handle the processing of invoices for payment in a timely and accurate manner Prepare and upload journal entries to ensure accurate record keeping Conduct account reconciliations regularly to ensure the accuracy of accounting information Investigate, correct, and adjust accounting information as needed to meet set deadlines Utilize Microsoft Excel and Pivot Table skills to organize and analyze financial data Ensure all accounting transactions are recorded accurately and timely Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate actions when necessary Resolve customer inquiries promptly and professionally Utilize your knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP) and other accounting functions to maintain efficient operations. Requirements Proficiency in account reconciliation is essential. Experience in invoice processing is required. Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel. Familiarity with accounts payable (AP) practices is necessary. The ability to handle invoice and journal entries is crucial. Knowledge of financial notes is desirable. Proficiency in using Pivot Tables in Excel is a plus. Familiarity with NIS is beneficial. Must be able to perform various accounting functions.
