Traffic / Technology Assistant Engineer

Job Description

Olsson’s traffic experts provide clients with a single resource for such traditional services as traffic operations studies, pedestrian circulation studies, and intersection improvement/design projects. They are also proficient in more complex projects, including conducting citywide safety studies, improving signal systems, and evaluating and designing Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). As an Assistant Engineer for the Des Moines, IATraffic/Technology team, you will use CAD software to create plans and perform design work. Traffic design includes traffic signals, roundabouts, pavement marking, signing, and temporary traffic control. You may also travel to jobs sites for field observations, and/or field work, working in all types of terrain and weather conditions.

Strong communication skills Ability to contribute and work well on a team Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering0-3+ years of engineering experience Must obtain Engineer Intern (EI) certificate Experience with AutoCAD (or similar software) Synchro experience is preferred, but not required High energy and a willingness to learn every day
