Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for an Accounting Clerk based in Lawrence, Massachusetts, United States. This role revolves around carrying out administrative and accounting duties across multiple departments, with a focus on invoice processing, data entry, and customer service.Responsibilities: Facilitate the smooth running of the accounting department by processing customer credit applications with accuracy and efficiency. Ensure the maintenance of precise customer credit records to enhance data accuracy and facilitate easy retrieval of information. Attend to customer inquiries professionally, providing accurate information and resolving issues promptly. Monitor customer accounts regularly, identifying discrepancies and taking necessary actions. Draft letters addressing invoices, confirming their payment status, and coordinating with the controller for the necessary follow-ups. Perform annual purging of files to maintain an organized and up-to-date record system. Utilize Microsoft Excel to format financial reports, including adding rows and bolding letters. Handle scanning duties as required, ensuring documents are correctly digitized for record-keeping. Work with Microsoft Word and other Microsoft products to execute administrative tasks efficiently. Occasionally run bank errands, necessitating a reliable means of transportation. Requirements Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential for this role Experience in scanning and digitizing documents Ability to accurately enter invoices into accounting systems Knowledge of general accounting principles and procedures Demonstrated organizational skills with attention to detail Excellent written and verbal communication abilities Ability to work effectively in a team setting Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically Ability to manage time efficiently and prioritize tasks Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information High school diploma or equivalent education level required Previous experience in an accounting or finance role is desirable.
