NIC’s Research and Development Team is currently seeking applicants to serve as a

Business Analyst on our Healthcare product team.

The BA will work in the Healthcare division across its product line. The BA role is an individual contributor that is responsible for understanding and assessing the changing needs of the Product Owners and stakeholders, document those needs as changes, analyze the impacts of those changes, and work with development staff to implement.

Job Functions:

  • Work with Product Owners and Business Stakeholders to identify, analyze and document changes to NIC’s health care product line.
  • Facilitate scrum ceremonies as needed with Development Staff.
  • Analyzes, documents, and tests program development, logic, process flows, and specifications
  • Partners with business and quality assurance partners during acceptance testing
  • Provides information that can be used to create user manuals that describe application configuration and operating procedures
  • Independently partners with business and technology subject matter experts to elicit, analyze, translate, and document business needs into system requirements.
  • Understand methods for dealing with requirements changes and their impact on testing and product quality
  • Manages multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Assists Managers to coordinate project resources to ensure projects are delivered on time.

Requirements:

  • Associates degree, or equivalent experience
  • Requires 2-4 years of experience in Business Analyst role
  • Healthcare experience is a plus
  • Experience in meeting facilitation
  • Experience in writing software requirements
  • Ability to quickly troubleshoot problems that may arise in work products
  • Assists with the creation of business cases and effort estimates
  • Intellectual curiosity and the ability to question thought partners within project team
  • Ability to partner with software engineers and quality analysts to identify course of resolutions
  • Understanding of the various software development lifecycles (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, etc.)
  • Understanding of modeling techniques, such as unified modeling language, etc.
