This position supports design-to-manufacturing transfer, production and repair of railway signaling equipment ( wayside + carborne )
Be a technical liaison between the manufacturing ( production ) and engineering ( design ) teams, responsible for maintaining manufacturing uptime, managing daily test concerns, and troubleshooting recurring problems.
Collaborate with various internal groups to improve test yields and address test issues to support of new production and repair of customer products
Support test procedure generation and modification
Perform a root cause analysis and resolution for test issues in manufacturing and repair.
Assist in test method and setup optimization
Optimize test solution hardware and software
Analyze test data and yields
Support continuous improvement initiatives by carrying out projects that explore process problems and develop new process concepts to improve productivity, efficiency, and quality.
Perform manufacturing test fixture experiments as necessary for performance improvement or adaptation to process changes.
Ensure that test procedures are current / up to date
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE), Electronics Engineering, Electronic Engineering Technology or similar
Strong understanding of electronics theory, principles, and practices
Must be able to write and develop test procedures for electronic products or systems
Understanding of Design for Test (DFT) practices, including the ability to design or redesign and implement effective process and tool improvements
Basic understanding of analytical tools and techniques, such as FMEA, DOE, SPC, and other statistical process control methods like Six Sigma or LEAN
Knowledge of industry standards and regulations for electronic products and systems, including safety and compliance requirements
Familiarity with environmental stress testing methods such as temperature, vibration, shock, HALT, and HASS.
Ideally a hands-on experience in manufacturing, assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of electronic ( electrical, electro-mechanical ) systems or assemblies
