- The Senior Front End Developer is accountable for ensuring our global E - Business/Commerce platforms are well controlled, operating effectively and aligned with business needs.
- Developing complex user-facing ecommerce applications using Vue.js
- Building modular and reusable components and libraries
- Testing & optimizing your code to improve performance and accessibility
- Implementing automated testing integrated into development and maintenance workflows
- Support and bug fixing of existing code
- Support of special projects and initiatives in addition to day-to-day objectives
- On time delivery of time-critical campaign related projects
- Staying up-to-date with all recent developments in the JavaScript and Vue.js
- Keeping an eye on security updates and issues found with Vue.js and all project dependencies
- Participates with your team and stakeholders to plan new features and provide best estimates allowing for team to optimize outcomes that provide the most value to the customer and the organization
- Breaks down features into manageable stories to allow for easier coding, reviewing, testing and approval.
- Participates in retrospectives to gain knowledge and learning with the purpose to become a more effective team member and to build better teams and deliver continuing higher quality products
- Writes clean, readable, adaptable, and quality unit tests alongside production code
- Reviews others code to ensure delivery of high-quality functionality and participate in an environment of learning
- Focuses on continuous integration and/or continuous delivery strategies providing optimal feedback loops for the team
- Builds test automation and practices test driven development
- Achieves the outcomes defined by the stakeholders
- Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years' experience in a front end JavaScript-focused developer role.
- Highly proficient with the JavaScript language and its modern ES6+ syntax and features
- Highly proficient with Vue.js framework and its core principles such as components, reactivity, and the virtual DOM
- Familiarity with the Vue.js ecosystem, including Vue CLI, Vuex, Vue Router, and Nuxt.js
- Expert understanding of HTML5 and CSS3, including SCSS. Working knowledge of newer features such as Grid.
- Solid understanding of responsive design and why we build mobile-first
- Understanding of server-side rendering and its benefits and use cases
- Knowledge of functional programming and object-oriented programming paradigms
- Understanding and experience with developing accessible user interfaces
- Ability to write secure, efficient, well-documented, and clean JavaScript code
- Understanding of TDD & BDD methodologies
- Familiarity with automated JavaScript testing, specifically via testing frameworks & software such as Cypress, Jest, Mocha and Cucumber
- Proficiency with modern development tools, like Babel, Webpack, and Git
- Experience with both consuming and designing RESTful APIs
- Experience working within a sprint-driven agile development workflow
- Familiarity with Magento 2 and/or Vue Storefront or other enterprise ecommerce platform would be beneficial
