- Assist project managers with scoping projects.
- Requirement Gathering:
- Meet with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define the business requirements and system goals, then identify and resolve business systems issues including (but not limited to) a project summary, impacts to the organization and applications potentially impacted, identified exclusions and other constraints risks and dependencies;
- Document a list of functional requirements and the As-Is state;
- Create/Capture definitions of how the solution will benefit the company including any backing evidence the business can provide;
- Clearly document the requirements in the appropriate format so it is easy to use and understand by members of the IT staff;
- Ensure the project stays within scope (avoid scope creep) by collaborating with Project Manager and business stakeholders – any requirements that are outside of scope require project manager and business approval.
- Initial Logical Design:
- Create mockups, logical diagrams and To-Be processes;
- Create system-to-system logical data mappings;
- Keep in mind master data considerations.
- Liaising:
- Act as a liaison between Business and IT, providing clarification to questions from IT architects and developers, as needed.
- Testing:
- Create test scenarios and test cases.
- Perform initial smoke testing.
- Assist Business with executing the Test Plan.
- Training:
- As appropriate, provide orientation and training to end users on both modified and new systems.
- General Functional/System Documentation:
- Create functional documentation for the systems that IT supports by meeting with both IT and Business team members.
