The Database Developer is responsible for the overall strategy, design, and development of databases used in support of core applications. The Database Developer will work alongside application architects and developers as a member of the Java development team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Design, develop and implement database systems based on customer requirements.
- Optimize database systems for performance efficiencies including indexing and constraints.
- Prepare design specifications and functional documentations for assigned database projects.
- Develop database tables and dictionaries.
- Create complex functions, scripts, stored procedures and triggers to support application development.
- Participate in database design and architecture to support application development projects.
- Test databases and perform bug fixes.
- Troubleshoot database related issues in a timely fashion.
- Develop best practices for database design and development activities.
TECHNICAL SKILLS 3+ years' experience: - SQL
- PL/SQL
- Skills to produce PL/SQL scripts to create and modify tables
- Occasionally will be tasked with modifying a complex stored procedure
- Analyzing Data Objects
- Database Optimization
- Linux
- Scripting
- Knowledge of Java
- Experience with BI tools and processes is a plus
- ETL experience is a plus
