Our direct client is looking to hire a Network Engineer for a direct hire/permanent position in Kansas City, KS.

This is a Hybrid permanent hire role, however, may consider someone who is 100% Remote.

Only needing to come into the office 1-day per week.

Hybrid candidate are preferred

Client is located in Kansas City, KS

Must be able to work Central Time Zone
You will be working in the Retail Wholesale industry (90 years in business), working for a GREAT boss and working with an experienced team.

Summary The Sr. Network Engineer must be well versed in various networking technologies provided by Cisco and other vendors. This role will be responsible for designing and planning for deployments of various Cisco networking technologies. The individual selected for this role will have a hands-on role in deploying network technologies from Cisco and other vendors. The Sr. Network Engineer will work to ensure industry and security best practices are followed and in place for all current and future systems and applications. The Sr. Network Engineer will also provide guidance and mentorship to other network engineers and analysts on the Network team. SKILLS NEEDED:
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in MIS/Computer Science, or a technology related field or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience planning, implementing, and managing an enterprise Hybrid network. Troubleshooting and problem determination in various environments.
  • Experience with Cisco SD WAN implementation and management

  • Ability to work independently and as a collaborative member of a team.
  • Ability to interact and collaborate with internal and external business partners.
Position Responsibilities
  • Creates network designs and project plans for implementation of various Cisco network technologies on Client's enterprise network.
  • Install, configure, and manage various Network equipment, such as but not limited to,
  • Cisco switches, Cisco Routers, and Meraki Wireless APs. Verify layers 1 - 7 of OSI model for standard installation of all components
  • Leads vendor and inter-team participation in completion of projects, builds and conducts tests, executes against the implementation plan, and tracks project progress.
  • Engage with Client's business units and various stakeholders to coordinate installation and maintenance windows.
  • Serves as a point of escalation within the team to provide support and troubleshooting for issues sent to the team by the Customer Service Center or management.
  • Installs, configures, and manages enterprise network monitoring tools and performs routine maintenance and risk remediation as required.
  • Create and maintain documentation for systems using standard documentation processes.
  • Lead proof-of-concept activities in evaluation of new products or changes to the network topology/infrastructure.
Position Requirements
  • Experience with Cisco SD-WAN (Viptela) implementation, monitoring and troubleshooting and conversion of MPLS to SD-WAN migration experience.
  • Experience with installation, configuration, and management of Cisco ACS for TACACS+.
  • Experience with Meraki wireless APs implementation, management, and support of wireless fabric.
  • A curiosity into the inner workings of the Network and a desire to improve network flow and service delivery.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and inclusively with others, to listen with an open mind to the ideas of others, to challenge the status quo, and to foster teamwork and customer service.
  • Real world hands-on experience implementing, configuring, and managing various network components from various vendors. Adapt and learn new technologies quickly.
  • Ability to act as third level support for outages and issues. Rotate on-call duties with team.
Preferred Qualifications (plus Skills only)
  • Cisco ISE for Network Admission Control (NAC).
  • Experience with automated switch/router configurations utilizing DNAC.
  • ACI experience for micro segmentation.
  • Experience with various network monitoring tools for gauging usage and customer satisfaction. Collecting long-term statistics to show progress and trends.
  • Certifications such as but not limited to Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP), as well as extensive hands-on training and education in routing protocols and switch fabric.
