This position will be in Kansas City, MO Summary of Duties:

Provides engineering support of highly technical and advanced manufacturing processes typically requiring specialized qualifications, knowledge and/or skill

Applies mathematical, physical science, and advanced engineering technologies in accomplishing engineering objectives

Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignments

Recognized authority within area of embedded systems with a wide versatility of experience and capability

Conducts research and development experiments to resolve complex engineering and quality problems involving highly technical, scientific methods

Writes technical reports on results and conclusions drawn from experiments and incorporates findings in formal specifications

Translates design concepts into production items by coordinating the activities of engineering, quality, manufacturing, and related organization

Estimates set-up times, flowtimes, costs of production and acceptance equipment, and recommendations for management review

Participates in establishing operating procedures on new products and components

Defines and recommends new designs, design changes, and alternate designs of product, instruments, and test equipment

Plans and performs engineering testing and uses advanced statistical and scientific methods to address and resolve critical engineering and production problems to assure product manufacturability

Originates, refines, and releases complex manufacturing, testing, and inspection work directions.

Determines acceptability of product and processes in conjunction with customers, design agency, and other affected organizations

Interacts with customers, design agency, and/or supplier counterparts to resolve moderate to complex design, development, production, and acceptance issues

Evaluates and implements technological advances that improve quality, reduce flowtime, improve productivity, and enhance operational surety

You Must Have:

Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science or equivalent 4-year engineering degree from an ABET accredited program/institution

Six or more years of experience in engineering or related technical activities

US Citizenship needed to obtain and maintain required US Dept of Energy ""Q"" level security clearance and SCI access

We Value:

Experience in Engineering or related technical activities, such as manufacturing, inspection processing or tool design, to include experience with microcontrollers and design of embedded digital electronics

Background with data processing software programming languages including Python, C, and Assembly. Training/experience with Excel, MATLAB, .NET, C, and C#.

Current DOE ""Q"" or DOD TS clearance

Maturity in analog and/or digital circuit design and reverse engineering methods.

Practice with Linux operating systems

Skills in analyzing product with IDA Pro and/ Ghidra

Experience developing software test plans and procedures for product qualification

Experience in testing, data acquisition, and data analytics

Understanding of algorithmic conceptualization and implementation

Competence with any PCB design studio (ORCAD, Mentor, Altium) and simulation software (P-Spice, LTSpice, Ansoft etc.

Capability with engineering tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, etc.

Proficiency with field programmable gate array (FPGA) design, programming, and troubleshooting

Familiarity with digital signal processing

Outstanding interpersonal verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate ideas to other team members and customer representatives of various technical backgrounds

Ability to work well in an inclusive, diverse organization, partnering with a variety of internal and external customers

Proactive and dedicated, able to prioritize multiple tasks and changing priorities
